American Movers of America
Privacy Policy
This page explains what we collect when you ask us for an estimate, what we do with it, and how to have it deleted.

What this website does
This website does two things. It takes a request for a moving estimate, and it gives a customer a private link to a portal that shows that customer their own move. There is nothing else on it.
You do not need an account to read any page here. There is no login, no password and no card field anywhere on this site. This policy describes what we actually do, not a policy borrowed from a larger company.
What we collect
When you fill in the estimate form, we receive exactly what you typed into it:
- where you are moving from and where you are moving to, as a ZIP code or a town
- your move date, or a note that the date is flexible or not set yet
- the size of move you selected
- your name, your email address and your telephone number
- whether you ticked the box allowing us to reply by text or telephone
- anything you wrote in the notes field
Like every website, the server that hosts this one also records ordinary technical information with each request: the IP address the request came from, the browser and operating system it reported, the page asked for, and the time. That is kept to keep the site running and to defend it from abuse. It is not joined to your estimate request to build a profile of you.
If your move goes ahead, your move file also holds the records of that move: your estimate and its line items, the documents issued to you, the photographs and any walkthrough video you send us, the crew and truck assigned to your job, and the messages between you and the office.
What we do not collect
- No card numbers, bank details or payment credentials are ever typed on this website.
- No Social Security number, driver’s licence number or date of birth.
- No advertising identifiers, no cross-site tracking pixels, no data brokers.
- No location data. This site never asks your browser where you are, and the location tags a phone camera writes into a photograph are removed before that photograph reaches us.
- No password. There is no account to create, so there is no credential of yours for us to lose.
How we use it
We use what you send us to answer your request and to run your move: to arrange a walkthrough, to write your estimate, to schedule a crew and a truck, to issue your paperwork, and to keep the business and tax records the law requires us to keep.
We do not use it for anything else, and we do not send you marketing you did not ask for.
How we share it
We will never sell, rent, trade or market your personal information to anybody. We share it only in these situations:
- With the companies that run the plumbing of this business — the host that serves this website, the service that delivers our email, and, if you pay a deposit, our payment processor. Each one receives only what it needs to do its job, and each is under a duty of confidentiality.
- With the crew assigned to your move, who need your addresses, your access notes and your arrival window in order to show up.
- Where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to bring or defend a legal claim.
We do not give your telephone number to anyone for their own marketing.
The client portal
The portal opens from a private link. There is no password, because there is no account — the link itself is the key, and it belongs to one move.
That has a consequence worth stating plainly: anyone you forward the link to can see the move it belongs to. Treat it the way you would treat the paperwork itself. Links expire on their own, and if you think one has gone astray, tell us and we will cancel it and issue another.
Your client portal is hosted separately from this website. What it shows you — your estimate, your documents, your move date — is your own move record, reachable only with your own sign-in.
Photographs and walkthrough video
You can photograph your rooms and record a walkthrough from your own phone’s browser. You never have to. An on-site survey is always available instead, and it costs you nothing either way.
- Purpose. One purpose only: to price your move accurately, and to have a record of what an item looked like before it was handled.
- Location data is removed. Your browser reduces each photograph before it is sent. That step also strips the camera data embedded in the file, including the GPS coordinates of the inside of your home. We do not receive them.
- Limits. Uploads are capped in number and in file size, and the type of every file is decided from the contents of the file rather than from its name.
- Who sees them. You, and the people here working on your move. They are not published anywhere and they are not used in advertising. If we ever wanted to use one, we would ask you in writing first, and no is a complete answer.
- Deletion. Ask us to delete them and we will, apart from anything that forms part of a record we are required to keep.
Payments and deposits
No payment is taken on this website. If a deposit is taken at all, it is taken on a hosted checkout page operated by our payment processor: you type your card details on the processor’s page, not on ours.
Your card number never reaches us. We do not see it, do not receive it and have nowhere to keep it. What comes back to us is the record that a payment happened — the amount, the date, whether it succeeded, and the processor’s own reference for it. We keep that record as an accounting record for as long as tax and record-keeping rules require. The processor handles your card details under its own terms and privacy policy.
We do not take card details over the telephone, we do not take them on paper, and we do not ask for cash at your door.
Text messages
If you give us your telephone number and tick the consent box, you consent to receive text messages from American Movers of America about your estimate, your appointment or your move. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help.
Consenting to texts is not a condition of any purchase or service. Write a line in the notes field asking us to keep it to email and we will. We do not sell or share your number with third parties for their own marketing, and mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no cross-site tracking. There is no social pixel, no advertising tag and no data broker on any page here.
Two honest details, because a privacy policy that only lists the good news is not worth reading. First, the typefaces are served from this site rather than from a font network, so reading a page does not tell a third party that you read it. Second, the home page loads two small open-source animation libraries from a public code delivery network. Any request carries your IP address to whoever answers it — that is how the web works — but those requests carry no cookie and no identifier from us, and every page stays readable and every control stays usable if that network is blocked.
How long we keep it
An estimate request that does not turn into a move is kept while we follow it up, and then deleted.
If your move goes ahead, your move file — the estimate, the Order for Service, the bill of lading, the inventory and the payment record — is kept as a business, tax and legal record for as long as the applicable rules require. Those documents are the proof of what was agreed and what was paid, which is a protection for you as much as for us. Portal links expire on their own schedule, well before the records do.
Anything that is not part of a record we are required to keep, we will delete on request.
Security
Every page is served over encrypted HTTPS. Portal links are cryptographically signed, so a guessed or altered link fails on arithmetic alone and tells the person trying nothing at all — not even whether a move exists behind it.
We hold no card numbers and no passwords, which happen to be the two things most worth stealing. No system is perfectly secure and we will not pretend otherwise. If information we hold about you is ever exposed, we will tell you.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us through the estimate form and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
We link to the federal consumer booklets published by the FMCSA and to the State of New Jersey’s licence verification portal, because you should be able to check us — and anybody else — against the source.
Those sites are not ours. We do not control what they collect, and this policy does not cover them.
Your choices and your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send the request through the estimate form and write “privacy request” in the notes field. We will answer it. We will not charge you for it and we will not ask you to explain why you want it.
If you opted into texts, replying STOP ends them straight away and has no effect on your move.
Where we operate
We are a New Jersey moving company, and this website is intended for people in the United States. If you use it from outside the United States, your information will be handled in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. We do not apply a change backwards to information already collected without saying so on this page.
How to reach us
There is deliberately no telephone number and no email address printed on this site. Everything reaches us the same way: through the estimate form, with a word in the notes field saying what it is about — “privacy request”, “accessibility”, or the subject of your message.
It arrives in the same place every other request arrives, and it is read the same business day it comes in.
